NCIS Report (Death): 26JUN05-MEBJ-0378-7HMA; Abu Bachir, Hiditha Dam, June 26, 2007 ("Homicide")

This is an NCIS investigation into the death of Abu Bachir, a Syrian National. Marines and Iraqi National Guard Forces (ING) stopped and searched a vehicle coming from the direction of Syria. A Red Opal a taxi with three (3) passengers. As the passengers were being questioned, they admitted that they were Syrian, that they were using fake Iraqi Passports and that they entered Iraq illegally. All of a sudden, Mr. Bashir broke away and began to flee, on foot, in to the desert. Mr. Bashir was ordered to stop, but refused. The Marines and ING forces opened fired on him, killing him. The investigating agent could not verify the name of the victim, although he was ID's by his companions as Abu Bachir, a Syrian National.
