    Sargent Travis was accused of cruelty; maltreatment; attempted assault by battery; conspiracy to maltreat; and dereliction of duty. Specifically, he conspired, witnessed and encouraged electrocution of a detainee by PFC Andrew J Sting, then lied about being present in an official statement. Sargent Travis was found guilty and sentenced to a reduction to pay grade E-1; confinement for 15 months; and discharge from the Marine Corps.
