Report of investigation into accusations of cruelty and maltreatment of an 18-year-old Iraqi civilian during an interrogation at an unknown detention facility in Baghdad, Iraq. The report was unable to make any conclusions about the truth of the allegations.

    • Victim was returning home from teacher's house on May 11, 2004 when his taxi was stopped by American officers, who arrested him. His hands were tied behind his back and a sack placed over his head. He was transported by car to an unknown location, where his shoes and socks were removed. He was then beaten. Between beatings, the victim was interrogated about his father and his family. The victim's statement indicates that the Arabic-English translator was misinterpreting some of his answers, which the victim noticed and tried to correct in English. The victim was eventually released and transported by car back to the location where he was picked up on May 14, 2004. CID Report includes victim's statement and letter from victim's uncle requesting investigation.
